This is an excellent venue for AMSOIL business growth, car people mixed with large crowed equals accounts… Very exciting opportunities..
The Giddings area was an excellent facility for swap meets, lots of shade, rest rooms, covered arenas, excellent Mexican restaurants in close driving distance. Our AMSOIL business grew by 5 accounts over the weekend, one of those a new Dealer (Ben Morris), we are very excited about Ben being in our team. He has a military back ground, automotive lubrication back ground and owns his own mobile lubrication business.
For a $40 investment and coming out with 5 accounts, I would do that trade any time. We even received a visit from one of Trey Thornton’s dealers, Mike Redman came by and picked up his oil from our last warehouse run saving mike about $20 in shipping.

Late Saturday I received a text from one of EL Nunn’s dealers, Tom Bays telling me he just sponsored another Commercial account with an order!!!! Great Job Tom!!!!

Being at swap meets, you can learn plenty from other vendors, in our case we picked up 3 more shows to do that came with real good references, that a big plus!

Your Partners in Success
Scott
www.svallie.com

September Activities –
16 Sept - Teleconference 7PM
18 Sept – Dealer Training Kyle TX
21 Sept – Warehouse trip

AMSOIL and MLM

With every trade show or event that I participate in I'm always asked one question when it comes to AMSOIL dealerships. Is it a pyramid? The short answer is NO, pyramids are illegal and if thats what your looking for then I cant help you.

AMSOIL Dealers are home based business that are all independent, we receive commissions from our efforts in the retail, commercial, preferred customer, catalog and dealership business. Unlike some MLM's AMSOIL dealers don't get one penny for sponsoring a dealer, the only time an AMSOIL dealer is compensated is when product is sold. Most MLM companies don't have the opportunities to sponsor a retail accounts or commercial account, in this regard an AMSOIL dealer is much like your Mobil or Pennzoil rep except for one caveat, its your account, your business not some huge cooperation.

Most of us like having that one go to person for our questions, concerns and ordering, AMSOIL dealers offer that. I enjoy helping my customers with their applications, whether its a local shop that needs a special lubricant or the guy 3 states away wanting to make sure hes got the right filter, being a problem solver is just part of what we do....

Home business are not for every one, to be successful you must be self motivated willing to put in the time, money and effort to make it work, yes the same old story is true... If it were easy everyone would do it.... We spend days and nights at trade shows, showing the public why we are better then our competition all of this is done out of our pocket, the booth, demo bottles, paperwork is all bought and paid for by us, so to say we are serious about our business is an understatement.

Now that its been said, there is no other job I would rather have then to be self employed in our AMSOIL business. We decide every aspect of our life now, when we work or when we play, no cooperate policy to follow no time clock to punch..... If you want to try the home AMSOIL business just give us a call 936-581-0804 or send an email... Remembering my grandfathers Ford Galaxy 500 and my brother in laws Buick Riviera and even my parents Cadillac, all of these bring good memories back of a time when things were not controlled by computers and credit scores, when a some one told you I will take care of that and you could bank on it.

I just wrapped up the Cruisin The Lake Hot Rod Show in Somerville TX. The back drop was a stunning view of Lake Somerville in a very well maintained park with excellent road system to ease the access to the car show and to the marina boat launch.

The Friday night street dance with a live band from Brenham TX kicked things off for the roll back in time. Saturday morning you could hear the rumble through the woods as the first of many classics came down the twisting road to make their entrance. It was obvious that many of the hot rod owners were good friends of perhaps yester year or they have shared projects in the past but now was the time to see what was new in your competitions hot rod.

This is a family event so the kids need to feel some of the passion that there parents have for their hot rods. the show coordinator had mini events for the kids to bring them into the world of hot rodding and restoration.

I attended this event as an AMSOIL vendor and found that AMSOIL is very popular in the hot rod community, in fact time an time again I became the problem solver with the correct lubricant for their need, from the Muncie 4 speed to the rear end of a Dodge diesel I was there to help them make that leap from a petroleum product to AMSOIL. A good friend of mine and fellow AMSOIL dealer spouted off one day with a great catch saying with one call many solutions, this show was a text book example of that saying...

Visit http://www.svallie.com/ or http://www.cruisinsomerville.com/ to see more about this event

Diesel Fuel dilution 2007-2011 Ford,Dodge & GM

In recent history diesel trucks (2500 -3500) have been under heavy scrutiny for a fuel dilution problem that came in to view when the EPA standard was risen.
In short current technology for regeneration for the DPFE filter is to spray diesel fuel on the exhaust stroke of the engine, sending unburnt fuel to the DPFE via the exhaust system.

Problems, oh yeah, fuel is getting by the rings and ending up in the crank case diluting the engine oil causing a severe change in viscosity, thats problem one.
Problem two is that during the spraying on the exhaust stroke the cylinders are getting washed down removing the sacrificial barrier that the oil provides, now you have metal to metal contact causing wear.

Whats the fix to this, well for those already built, not much any one can do. No filter will remove fuel from the oil. It comes down to a couple of things the quality of the oil your using and the way your truck is operated. There are case studies that a Ford 6.4L with 3800 miles on it had 10% fuel dilution, that is awful, the oil is critically out of spec for viscosity. Independent lab tests have shown the Shell Rotella T falls out of spec with just 2% fuel dilution and Mobil, Chevron Delo & Valvoline fall out of spec at 4%. The only solution is to dump your oil and replace it, costing you more money.
I wish I could tell you that AMSOIL DEO (5w40) or DME (15w40) can solve the problem but thats not the case, what it does do is stays in grade where the others fail. So AMSOIL will continue to protect your expensive diesel engine even with 4% fuel dilution but you do have to change it at the OEM recommended interval. AMSOIL is not content to just offer engine protection without an extended drain interval, AMSOIL continues to test and tweak the formulas to offer its customer nothing but the finest lubricant products. For more information on this issue visit svallie.com.
In the future we can only hope that the OEM's will follow the class eight trucks lead and place an injector in the exhaust system, eliminating the need to spray the cylinder walls with diesel fuel.

AMSOIL University

The start of the 2010 AMSOIL university is just a few days away. A week long school encompassing many topics on three different levels, Core, Business development and Advanced. All of these are designed to enhance the AMSOIL dealers business whether the dealer is new or a veteran of many years.

As for quality of training, this school is second to none everything is first class from the accommodations to the meals

I was last at AMSOIL U...in 2005 and came away from these classes with so much information, I continue to utilize that information today. Each one of my dealers should make it a personal goal to attend AMSOIL U in 2011, which will be held in May. Along with the information you will receive about products, you will develop friendships with fellow AMSOIL DEALERS, throughout the U.S.A. The classes are held at the convention center in Duluth, MN, so those of you from TX, will need winter clothes in May....lol....

The whole AMSOIL U experience brings with it a camaraderie that closely parallels the camaraderie found in military service. In fact there is a large amount of AMSOIL dealers that are veterans of the service to include myself. That shouldn't really be a surprise its difficult to find something to fill the void that's left when you depart from the service. A team of people helping and supporting each other with one mission - Army, A team of people helping and supporting each other with one mission - AMSOIL..... it just works...

The AMSOIL business

I've been told on more than one occasion, that I am very passionate about our AMSOIL business. Let me tell you why, on January 22, 2010 I was working at our local Ford Dealership. In a dealership business, the service department supports the rest of the dealership. The service dept of this dealership could not even support the electric bill, because of the economic situation.

I was laid off, and at that point made the decision that I would no longer rely on any other business or business person, other than myself. Since we were already well established in the AMSOIL business it only made sense to give it 110 percent and do it full time. In AMSOIL, there are only a few people that work as full time dealers, and we are now one of those few. I treat this business as a full time career, by participating in trade shows, conducting cold calls, making appointments with businesses that can benefit from AMSOIL. In just a few short months, our AMSOIL business has grown and I anticipate this next year to our best year yet.

In AMSOIL no one can fire you, its your business, your the boss, theres no $5000 dollar buy in like some companies. AMSOIL has been doing business in the fashion since 1972, you really need to look into this if for nothing else then a back up plan in case you get laid off....

By the way, we are happier now then when we work for somebody...

AMSOIL and New Vehicle Warranty

Many consumers are unaware of their rights when it come to new vehicle warranty, there told by the dealership you have to use "this' to keep your warranty valid, nothing could be further from the truth.

What new Vehicle warranty cover - Defects in manufacture & Workmanship, defined by time and miles.
The Vehicle manufacture provides the oil requirements in the owners manual by SAE viscosity and service requirements. As long as the lubricant you choose meets those requirements you can use that lubricant.

In 1975 Congress in acted the Magnuson Moss Act, it regulates written consumer product warranties, it states that no manufacture can tell you what to use unless then provide it to you FREE OF CHARGE. Most OEM's dint provide that.

Things you need to be aware of in the automotive dealership business.

The oil dealerships buy that is brand X is usually brought to them from the lowest cost vendor meeting a SAE viscosity grade and service classification in bulk, is it the best product for your vehicle, not even close.

Their intent is to get you in the dealership with low cost oil changes then "up sell" you flushes and other services. This is where you really need to pay close attention, the service adviser makes money up selling different products to you, so now the advisor's get paid for the oil changes, the up sell and if you need tires, brakes or battery the adviser will get money from you and the OEM for selling you the OEM product.

The money motivator the OEM'S have created for the dealerships service adviser is a double edge sword, it can cause advisers to attempt to sell you things that you really don't need, just so their pocket book gets bigger.

In Summery:
You can use AMSOIL with no concerns with new vehicle warranty. Its better to use a local shop and someone you trust for routine maintenance. Question all aspects of your dealership transactions

AMSOIL Business

Most company's you get no compensation for sick days or personal days, however being an Independent AMSOIL dealer, my business continues to grow even when I'm not able to go out and visit our accounts.

AMSOIL business is not like other MLM's, we sponsor stores to resell AMSOIL, we can sell direct to the public, we can sponsor an end use business account in fact your only limited by your own imagination on how to make your business grow.

Our AMSOIL business on more then one occasion has helped up pay the bills when I was injured in an motorcycle accident and laid up for three months our AMSOIL business continued to grow from just sending emails to our AMSOIL friends and accounts from my bed.
